Warren Ellis writes Cemetary Beach #1, and Jason Howard lays down the lines. And colour. New, from Image.

This one is an adrenaline rush. From a prisoner’s interrogation to a daring escape, this one just rocks. It’s a kinetic blast from a high powered writing and drawing team. Bullets of dialogue, screaming arcs of action. It’s a ride that starts gradually, like at Disneyworld, but only if Disneyworld allowed your ride vehicle to leave the track and go free falling from tall buildings.

Overall, Cemetary Beach, as riveting as it is, is a quick read. But fun, and well worth it. I’d go again.

Image, Cemetary Beach #1, $3.99 for 22 pages of content. Mature.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
