Dynamite’s Robots Versus Princesses issue 3 takes a bit of getting used to.

For a first time reader, the story is hard to figure out and would benefit from an introduction, even now in issue 3.

But thanks to the trusty (ha ha) internet, I now understand! This 4 issue miniseries follows Princess Zara as she sets off on her mission to find a dragon. Along the way, she crosses paths with a robot named Wheeler. The two join forces, and along with Zara’s friends, and the pair must stop a robot invasion! In this combo of Robots and Princesses, it’s drama on every page. There are lots of learning moments along the way, as the Princesses and Robots must make the best of things. Just like in life, we all need to learn to get along!

The tale is written by Todd Matthy, illustrated by Nicolas Chapuis.

Overall, it’s a solid story, once we have an understanding of what’s going on. Some art panels need a bit of figuring out, though; action could be better described or ‘telegraphed’, to quote an old expression.

Dynamite, Robots Versus Princesses #3 (of 4), $3.99 for 24 pages of content. All ages

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
