The Marvel Cinematic Movie Universe figures from Bandai/Tamashii Nations have been a beautiful addition to collectors shelves, but has multiple releases turned people off?

The common collector or people not in the know are probably asking WHAT?! Let me explain before I dive into the action figure review. Bandai/Tamashii Nations sometimes have a mass release, a Japanese only release, and sometimes an American Verison (distributed via Bluefin) that will include a pack in deal of some sort. The version I had ordered was the Japanese release which came with the brown shipping box as opposed to the American Verison that came with a ground effect packed in. Pros and cons of the releases…well the Japanese one came out a few weeks prior to the American release. Having options does not suck but it does make the collector ask if the figure is worth it. And for me YES it was worth it!

Bucky was made to feature his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War. Most were hoping for his look from Captain America; The Winter Soldier or Civil War, but in the end, we must rejoice as now SHF Collectors now have a Bucky on the shelf! The figure includes two sets of hands, a gun with a removable magazine, and an alternate head sculpt.  I personally would have liked a spare arm from previous films packed in instead of an alternate head sculpt but again what we got is still beautiful! On the right leg, there is a knife that cannot come out of the sheath but is a nice added detail.

Paint on this figure is beautiful. There were no smudges or over paint. The details on the new arm that Black Panther gifts to Bucky are uncanny! The gold accents to the black stand out and then some! Both heads have amazing detail with the beard and hair, however, the eyes on the alternate head are just okay! After rewatching Bucky’s scenes I understand why they painted the eyes that way but I do not think it was a needed addition.

Articulation of the arms and legs are phenomenal and with some work, you can pose him with Rocket to recreate him spinning Rocket around and clearing a path for the heroes to fight. My only gripe is with the hair. The plastic is not soft enough to turn the head and the hair interferes just enough with the collar to pop the head off at times. It is an easy fix but a minor inconvenience.

Overall Bucky is an amazing figure. If you are a fan its a must have, if you are an MCU collector a must have, or if you want to complete your MCU Figuarts. Personally, for me, I liked it do not love it but I do not hate it either. He is a welcomed addition to my collection and will not be going anywhere.

JQ gives the S.H. Figuarts Avengers: Infinity War- Bucky figure a 6.5 out of 10.
