Uncle Scrooge reveals the long and winding road he traveled to accumulate his fourth million dollars in IDW/Disney’s Uncle Scrooge My First Millions issue 4.

It’s the first US publication of this original story, which appeared in Italian in Topolino #2699, in 2007. The writer is Fausto Vitaliano, with art by Giampaolo Soldati. Coloured by Disney Italia, and translated/dialogued by Erin Brady.

Scrooge is working with a building contractor partner named “Wreck”. Which perhaps should have been a heads-up to Scrooge. It turns out that Wreck is cutting corners in building materials, and his buildings are starting to crumble. And so does the partnership! Suddenly Wreck is nowhere to be found! How will Scrooge save face and save himself from financial ruin??

It’s a nicely paced story with strong visuals by Soldati. The characters are well drawn and the storyline easy to follow. It’s a saga for all ages, with some laughs along the way. Well constructed, team!

IDW/ Disney, Uncle Scrooge My First Millions #4, $3.99 for 26 pages of content; all ages

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
