There are hundreds, nay, thousands of characters in the Star Wars Universe. Many of their origins mysterious to the general public besides the movies. General Grievous is one of those characters.

In Star Wars Episode III the masses were introduced to the evil General Grievous but if you watched the Clone Wars cartoon series you saw him first and already had an idea of who he was. General Grievous serves as the Supreme Commander of the Droid Armies and has been trained in all lightsaber arts from Count Dooku himself. He was trained and rebuilt to rival the Jedi Order.

Hasbro went right to business when they created this action figure. The scale is perfect, the articulation is amazing for a non-import action figure, the sculpt is flawless, and the accessories are top notch. The price tag is worth every penny as this action figure most definitely supersedes all expectations and has become one of my biggest favorites in the line.

There are so many points of articulation on this action figure. The arms can separate at the shoulder to simulate Grievous’s lightsaber duel with Obi-Wan. Each arm has elbow and wrist movement as well as the shoulder. The arms reconnect at the wrist where they can function as a regular arm. There is ab crunch as well as legs, knees, and feet articulation.  Also, the neck can move up slightly as well as to the left and right. All this movement makes for many possible poses for the General.

The paint application is superb for being a mass retail action figure. The wash they used to make his armor look weathered was an amazing touch. The attention to detail on the face and interior servos was also worth noting. Accessory wise you get four lightsabers, a blaster, and a beautifully done soft fabric cape with pockets to hold the lightsaber hilts or the blaster.

I have had a very fun time with this figure from Hasbro’s Star Wars Black Series line. I personally have a mixture of S.H. Figuarts and Black Series action figures and this General Grievous figure fits perfectly. If you see this on the shelves and have the opportunity to buy it I highly recommend it. This one came from our friends at Entertainment Earth so if you do not feel like hunting at the stores you can always go online to them.

JQ gives this figure a solid 9.5 out of 10!
