Young Justice is back from their mid-season break, and they hit the ground running! Episode 14, titled Influence, waste no time getting us back into the action.

Episode 14 starts us on Thanagar with Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, Hawkwoman, and Guy Gardner investigating with a some of Thangar’s finest. The League is committed to this attack being from Apokolips however, the Thanagarians are not quick to jump on this theory.  After the cold shoulder the League decides to attempt to gracefully walk away however, Guy in normal Guy Gardner fashion leaves the area with less than grace.

We then go to Mount Justice, where Nightwing, Superboy, and Tigress are speaking with Forager, Terra, Halo, and Brion about the choice of initiation into the team. While they are thinking about that choice we see some interviews that are reminiscent of the Sokovia Accords from the Avengers (yes I know this is a DC review but that is what it felt like) between Aquaman, Lex Luthor, Troia, and G. Gordon Godfry.

This episode has many nods of fan service from Justice League and Justice League Unlimited series. As well as a ton of comic book references with events that have happened recently in comics. One of these events was G. Gordon talking about Jim Gordon covering the Bat-signal due to Gotham boycotting Batman.  As well as Lex Luthor dropping a Watchmen quote!!

We do have a pretty big battle in space when Wonder Woman, Superman, Guy, Hawkman, and Hawkwoman find a rogue asteroid near orbit to the Watchtower and inside is Granny Goodness, Desaad, and the Furies. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Hawkwoman have a pretty big fight against Barda and the Furies. After the fight, Granny retreats into a boom tube leaving the heroes scratching their heads onto how and what they saw.

The episodes chats have some pretty important plot set up from where this season could be heading. One thing remains true Darkseid IS coming and I cannot wait to see the Young Justice/Outsiders/Justice League team up and fight for the Earth,

I am a happy camper that this show is back and even more happy that the DC Universe service was able to bring us back AMAZING animation, an AMAZING story, and an all-out AMAZING ride. Episode 14 gets an 8.8 out of 10, and I am all in for the ride!!!
