“Sit down and be silent or I’ll have all of you arrested for breach of the peace!” – James Gordon
James Gordon first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in which he was simply referred to as Commissioner Gordon. Gordon frequently contacts Batman for help with solving various crimes committed by supervillains.
For San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Mezco released Commissioner James Gordon with Bat-Signal as an exclusive. The package is bright yellow with the outer shell with various openings for the yellow to come through as if they were lights from buildings in Gotham. Included is 2 head sculpts, 6 hands, gun and holster, walkie talkie, wristwatch, badge that mounts on the belt, trench coat, GCPD bulletproof vest with working zipper and pockets, gun firing effect, and working Bat-signal spotlight. Only missing thing I could see was the fedora to go along with the trench coat.
Another hit from Mezco. Attention to detail down to the badge, watch, and even the tie is removable. The bat signal is bright and the signal shows up well on walls and ceilings Even batman could see that signal. Articulation is good though no double-jointed elbow which makes it hard for some poses without it such as a hand on the walking talkie that attaches to his chest via magnet. Glasses are as far as I know non-removable on either head though I didn’t try hard for fear of breaking them. His holster attaches to his belt with no problem and holds his gun well. The Vest says GCPD on it and zips on from the rear. I found the zipper a bit difficult to zip up and down but with patience, you will figure it out. The vest also has pockets all over it. Finally, the base is black with GCPD on it. Even the spotlight had a lot of detail in it including making the handle turn the light on and off.
I could not find much wrong with this figure. I had been looking forward to it since announced. There were too many Batmans, not enough supporting characters but that is changing. If you got this figure it was a great pick up. If you didn’t hopefully you can catch it at a great deal. To date, there has not been a bad exclusive yet from Mezco. Looking forward to seeing what New York Comic Con will have in store for Mezco Fans.
