Comic Review: Folklords #3 (BOOM! Studios)

Ansel really has gotten himself into a sticky situation here.

The well-drawn but rather graphic pictures drawn by Greta really set the tone for this issue as Ansel finds himself strapped to a table away to be tortured and killed. I love the twist on the classic Hansel and Gretel tale it was really refreshing to see them as more than just lucky kids who had a close call. The y are proper psychos and I’m not sure whos worse as Hansel may be deformed but he’s like that from the candy. Greta is a psycho without the need for mind-altering candy.

I am super intrigued with the new archer situation and can not wait to see them meet up again to see Archer’s side of what happened with Greta, surely he didn’t abandon Ansel knowing who she is and what she does? There must be an explanation for it

I cant wait to see if Ansel meets up with any other fabled characters that have a darker role to play in Ansels story and if it is all just a test from the Folklords themselves.
