The Clone Wars returns for one last battle
Star War: The Clone Wars show first appeared on Cartoon Network in 2008 and was used to bridge the gap between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The original series ran for 5 seasons. In 2014, Netflix picked it up for a sixth season, but fans always want more. Now Disney+ is giving us a seventh and final season. I’m assuming when this season end, it leads right into Revenge of the Sith.
Season 7 picks up right in the middle of a battle. The Republic is losing battle to the Separatists’ armies. It seems the Separatists know all the Republics’ battle strategies. So to investigate this, the Republic needs an unorthodox group of soldiers. This means calling in the Bad Batch. The Bad Batch is made of clones that have been enhanced in some way. Strength, intelligence, stealth. Can the Bad Batch get along with the normal clone troops and get the job done? That’s what they find themselves asking.
Even though the show is winding down, it really comes back with a big bang. Of course with only 12 episodes this season they introduce characters as cool as the Bad Batch. Grumble! But seriously, it’s really great to see this series on the air again. Thanks to the Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Rebels, you do know some of the character’s fates, but still it’s interesting seeing how we got from point A to point B.
Voice actor Dee Bradley Baker just does an excellent job as the clones. I love the way he switches from each clone to give all of them a unique voice. Dee is truly a master of his craft!
Bottom line it’s a fun ride that I don’t want to end. But all things must end. And I get the feeling the producers of Clone Wars are going to end it in a big way. The ride is half the fun!
Star Wars: The Clone Wars premier’s exclusively on Disney+, Friday, February 21st.
