A blend of story meeting reality for the characters is a brilliant idea.

I love how we are basically getting 3 different stories in this first issue this is a little SPOILER esque but I can’t really not talk about it. I started reading thinking it was a really cool comic then hit the story within a story point which I thought was a brilliant way to mix it up and reminded me of the princess bride. It looks as though the stories will interact with each other which I am really looking forward to.

The artwork is amazing it has real 50’s feel to it with the dashing hero and burlesque women while both are equally able to hold their own in a fight. The style continues out of the comic book world into the ‘present’ and looks awesome it feels like a futuristic story but set in the past, close to steampunk but different enough to be its own thing.

The characters are really well filled out too, the dinner scene highlights everyone’s differences that I can totally see coming into play when worlds collide. Claire’s tendency to switch off from the world is fascinating and really well portrayed the faded lettering was a really nice touch. There is so much going on in this first issue it really bodes well for the future issues there are so many moving parts to explore and so many interesting characters that could easily lead the story is very intrigued as to the direction the story is going to take.
