Syd Holmes lives up to his namesake in this issue by solving the case, twice.
Everywhere Syd turns there is someone who hates him and confronting Thomas Ulwin is no different, both him and his wife absolutely despise Syd and leads to Syd having to be rescued by a mermaid. I love this book, where else can a comedian/detective be rescued by a mermaid. Syd goes on to wrap up every character’s involvement showing just how good he is at what he does. A massive twist gets him in trouble as even once he’s solved the case things just can’t go right for him.
I loved the concept of this book all the twists and turns and wild situations Syd had to maneuver around while almost everyone was out to kill him was such a fun read and the artwork was brilliant matching Syd’s erratic style perfectly
I hope to see more of Syd but surely even he isn’t unlucky enough to be framed for murder twice!
