First off, although Chu is a spin-off of Chew you don’t have to have read Chew to read Chu but if you haven’t read Chew then you NEED to read Chew as its awesome

Introducing Saffron Chu a totally new character to the Chewniverse and looks like the polar opposite of her cop brother Tony Chu. This looks to be a prequel of Chew that as time goes on (and I hope a lot of time) it may overlap with some events. Regardless of whether it does this looks like a brilliant story of Saffron’s rise to be a criminal mastermind.

I love the Chewniverse and this looks like it is going to be as much fun as usual with Saffron and her boyfriend Eddie jumping straight into a botched mission with the amount of bodily fluids laying the groundwork for things to come. This will be an interesting take following the criminal activities of people who gain special abilities from the consumption of food and I’m looking forward to the inevitable tangents this story will take.

Whether having a brother who is a cop will help or hinder Saffrons professional abilities are yet to be seen but she is clearly already a step ahead as she covers her tracks using beets (even writing that makes me laugh at how fantastically ridiculous this is)

Saffron Chu immediately set to be to be a contender for the most likable Chu of the family!
