A new statue based on Skottie Young’s art…yes please!

I’m a huge fan of Skottie Young’s art. I love the cartoonish cute, yet psychotic, look to it. It’s sick and twisted and cuddly at the same time. The first time I saw Young’s Marvel work, I was hooked with this guy.

That being said, I so love this statue!

Deadpool is already a twisted character but with Young’s art, it just looks better! This statue is based on the cover from Deadpool and the Merc for Money #1 variant cover.  Now check out this side by side comparison of the art vs the statue:

Pretty much an exact match! Gentle Giant really went all out for this statue. And the sculpt, the devil is really in the details. You can see corrugated fiberboard from the cardboard. All weapons in it. In one of the barrels behind him is Cyclop’s visor! I love that.

The paints just pop on this statue and just help making look like it leaped from the page!

The best thing about this statue and this image, in general, is how it’s an homage to Lucy’s psychiatry booth from the Peanuts! Sorry, you just can’t beat that!

Look I can’t recommend this statue enough. You need one of these for you collection, Marvel fan or not, it’s just really cool!

Many thanks to Diamond Select Toys for letting me check out this awesome statue!
