DC Comics releases a Christmas special featuring the whole cast of the DC Universe in DC’s Very Merry Multiverse on its first issue.
So, it’s December and it comes to this to have a Christmas version which brings you this comic with shits and giggles. So far, I expect for the year to end, but there’s always something that can’t be left undone. The whole comic is created by some various writers and artists who are excited to create a Christmas story based on DC heroes, but I would rather have a Christmas special of Static, where he and Gear battle against the metahumans who causes trouble during the holiday season, while the penguin who dumped a fart egg bomb and explodes a building. But despite all that this is a big 80-page book of this Christmas edition.
The front shows a whole cast of the DC Universe who is currently building a snow batman, while Harley Quinn just bashed the snowman apart. I mean, do I really need to be reminded of Frozen, because the ‘build a snowman’ song is what most people have in their minds. And on top of that, there are so many unfamiliar faces who actually suit themselves up as their favorite DC superheroes, at least we have Terry as Batman Beyond and Harley Quinn. Oh, and I like the whole message on the bottom saying “Ten Tales of Heroic Holiday Hijinks!” Does it mean that we get everyone to read one of your favorite heroes celebrating Christmas with shits and giggles on it? maybe.
So from a nutshell, we get to see one of the DC characters explaining their story of how they’ve spent this year’s Christmas. Harley is going through tough times while the old man is going on a pity story of how he cheated death so many times, right after a bus ran over him. The other stories focus on Christmas time from the past and from the future, and there were one mummified creature dresses as a superman who is being sarcastic about loving holidays. There are always some villains who are becoming the grinch, while the others are fighting to defend this holiday hijinks.
Speaking of hijinks, the story may be silly with full of fun holidays, the art is way too silly, to begin with. And there was one art style that is too similar to Spawn. From what I witness this is actually a fun Christmas special comic to read for children and adults if you ever want to celebrate it during this period of time because of Covid. If there’s nothing else to do outside, at least you should stay warm and celebrate it all you can.
