Back Story: Thanos was born on Saturn’s moon Titan to Eternals A’lars and Sui-San. Bearing a resemblance to the cousins of Eternals race Deviants, this worried Sui-San that Thanos would destroy the universe. She attempted to kill him until she was stopped by A’lars. Created by Jim Starlin, Thanos made his first appearance in February 1975 in Invincible Iron Man # 55. Thanos made several more appearances before disappearing from the Marvel Universe only to return in the nineties in Silver Surfer volume 3 #34. Most notably being remembered for his appearance in the Infinity Gauntlet 1-6 mini-series.
What’s in the Box: Although he lacks accessories he comes with two head portraits one helmeted one without.
Verdict: Although Sporting the infamous gauntlet with the infinity stones Thanos lacked accessories in the package other than his head without the helmet. Don’t let this deter you from picking one up. The attention to detail is uncanny down to the yellowing of his teeth this character has character. The design for wear and tear is great. I 3d printed his Throne from The Infinity movie and positioning him to fit in the chair took a little work but the articulation in the legs made it a bit easier. Overall another great addition to Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select series. Grab him while he lasts.
