Kyle Higgins writes, Marcelo Costa draws and Becca Carey letters issue 2 of Radiant Black, from Image.
Our lead character Nathan recently found an alien artifact that turned him into a superhero! Cool! But all is not glorious. Nathan’s Dad is Old School, going on and on and on about Nathan earning a living, wondering why Nathan has no work ethic or prospects. Poor Nathan. And the cops seem to be on his case, literally like. And there’s the superhero thing, tempting Nathan to get in deep, up in the air, and over his own head.
Higgins writes a lot of conversation in Radiant Black, a lot of dialogue. Which is fine if it’s going somewhere, but sometimes I wanted to move along. Pronto, let’s get going. But when we ‘get going’, well, that kinda goes on and on too. Long battles. I’d like to see a mix of action and plot development, but this is an interesting title, it has potential, and Marcelo Costa’s fight scenes are dynamic and fun.
