Dark Horse Comics releases a graphic novel about terrorists, mobsters, turf wars, and all the other stuff back in the older days in New York City in We Only Kill Each Other.

So I get to read another New York-themed story that involves some violence and killing, which is more accurate from what we’re witnessing back home with the shooting attack in a Brooklyn subway station last week, I’d find this one to be decent enough to tell the tale. The story is written by Stephanie Phillips and illustrated by Peter Krause. Stephanie is an American writer who is known for many DC Comics such as Batman, Superman, Harley Quinn, and such. Stephanie is not only a comic writer but she’s also a fighter and plays hockey. Fact that she’s a great writer, she also likes some activities outside of comics. And Peter is a veteran illustrator and a comic artist who is best known for his work on various DC Comic titles, however, he also collaborated with a writer named Mark Waid who worked on a series Irredeemable for Boom! Studios in 2009.

The front cover almost reminded me of one of many covers of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’s books which is much more intriguing. There we have four mobsters who are going out for a turf war to fight against the Nazis, as you can see the picture of Adolf Hitler placed three bullets against the photo while setting it on fire. You may think that you’re reading another detective story in New York, but no, this goes way back then when the West Side Story movie became a thing to New Yorkers.

The story takes place in 1938 when Joseph Joestar was first introduced in Downtown Manhattan. Only this time at the start of the story, a bar fight just broke out between a drunken man and some Jewish guy who lit up a cigarette in the middle of the bar, fighting over some girl. Then the next scene goes when a Jewish villain was introduced, who is in the middle of his Sabbath right until he is interrupted by some men who brought in some guy with some info about a shipment at the docks. The world that the creators are building is almost like having the Jews and the Germans fight against each other. This is America where people can judge their religious views and racism. I can’t think of another hate crime around the big apple where the German claimed that the Jews were violent, the Jews gathered some gangsters and mobsters around the turf, and now they’re slapping each other’s wrists like it’s a game to them, which is killing the Nazis around the city.

What I think about this story is very wild because imagine if you’re a dirty Jew who is about to go to war to kill every Nazi around the neighborhood. I bet Adolf Hitler will be shaking his coffin angry like maracas. Seriously, I can’t think of any other story that can be so epic back in the golden age of New York City. Fuck every other Webtoon Canvas comic or any other webcomic series, NO THIS COMIC IS THE FUCKIN’ GOAT. I also like the art because it makes you think that you’re reading another Batman story, but I’m witnessing one of the characters from West Side Story. The first MC of a Jewish man was acting more like a douche beating some thugs while badmouthing the Nazis, which made me move the way how he’s shown as a character trait. But at the end of the comic, he and some mobster saved the president of the United States from a train raid by shooting some Nazis and they were declared heroes. I’m so sorry to say this but this comic is the best story that I’ve ever read. If you ever want to read an epic story about two Jews going out of a war against the Nazis, then this is for you.
