Skybound’s New Teen Horror Anthology Series Launches June 8
The world seems like a frightening place. Skybound’s here to show you just how much that’s true. Today Skybound debuted a new trailer for Skybound Presents Afterschool, the upcoming teen horror anthology miniseries that goes the extra mile to tell the cautionary tales your parents were too scared to talk about.
The new trailer grants a sneak peek into the world of Afterschool, where morals have eroded, and the kids are out of control. Someone’s got to teach them a lesson. Beginning with Nora, who’s got a new best friend with a killer secret…and no one is going to tear them apart. Afterschool presents four standalone comics, four different stories, and one simple truth: the good die young, but the bad die better.
The trailer can be viewed right here.
Each standalone Afterschool special features its own team of acclaimed writers and all-star artists from comics, television and beyond, including Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight) and Greg Hinkle (Radio Spaceman); Kate Herron (Sex Education, Marvel Studios’ Loki) & Briony Redman (the BAFTA Rocliffe-winning Pont Brec) alongside Leila Leiz (M.O.M.: Mother of Madness, Horde); Jill Blotevogel (Scream: The TV Series) with Marley Zarcone (Shade, the Changing Girl; Effigy); and Leon Hendrix III (Two Sentence Horror Stories, Mayor of Kingstown) to give each issue a distinct horrifying feel, with its own relatable characters and truly chilling lessons.
Afterschool launches with a debut issue by Benson, Moorhead, Greg Hinkle, Giovanna Niro and Pat Brosseau that follows Nora, whose anxiety prevented her from approaching high school with any degree of confidence. Until she adopts Janie, an emotional support dog with a winning smile and a killer secret. But just how far will Nora go to keep her new life?
