The Drujh weapons have begun ascension and aim to ensnare Sepulcher City. The only way to stop this threat in its tracks is by going to hell, literally! Can Vampirella and her team prevent the city from being consumed, or will it just be another extension for hell to bear fruit?
Sniegoski takes readers on a trip to hell, exploring what has become of it since the inception of this futuristic world that Vampirella has inhabited in this series. It’s interesting seeing the kind of compromises that Vampirella makes in order to end the bloodshed that occurred throughout this series, given that the ramifications that will surely follow down the road. There’s a ton of action and readers get some more clues as to the origins of these demonic weapons and how its presence affects those around them. A lot of the story gets wrapped up nicely with potential exploration for stories to come.
Jonathan Lau’s art shines a lot in this issue as everything is bombastic in many of the pages, especially during the battle scenes that occur throughout the book. Lau’s art is greatly embellished by the fantastic color work of Omi Remelante Jr, and Jeff Eckleberry’s lettering that conclude the book on a good note. Of the various Vampirella titles, this was enjoyable and different from the others and hopefully will see more installments of this iteration down the line. Add this to your pull list for new comic book day.
