Marc Silvestri’s Cover B Reveal

Publisher Top Cow has been making waves this year as they celebrate their 30th anniversary. From an impressive showing at San Diego Comic Con, new comic launches like Zack Kaplan’s Metal Society and two projects with EP1T0ME Studios: The Clay People: Colossus and Revolvers, fan-grabbing Kickstarters like The Complete Cyberforce Vol. 1, CEO Marc Silvestri coming out with his own DC Comics Black Label series Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo, Ringo Award nominations for series Syphon and more, the publisher decides to give veterans a platform to share their experiences in the service through sequential storytelling with a new anthology Soldier Stories, coming this November 9th, 2022.

With Eisner-nominated artist Billy Tucci (ShiBatman) already the cover artist for Soldier Stories Cover A, Top Cow revealed Cover B variant by artist Marc Silvestri.

Ken Pisani (AMP’D), Los Angeles Times Best Selling Author who produced SOLDIER STORIES said, “Thrilled to see the variant cover by living legend Marc Silvestri! Known for his dynamic action, Marc instead chose a quiet pose in the brief aftermath of battle—a soldier alone with his thoughts, as compelling an image as any firefight.”

Top Cow also released that the anthology will feature an excerpt by the late Denny O’Neil, writer and editor of many Marvel and DC Comics, including The Amazing Spider-man and Green Lantern/Green Arrow.

“Denny and I were friends since I interviewed him for a documentary years ago. Knowing about his Navy service, I had hoped to get a story out of him for the anthology—literally years in the making—but it wasn’t to be. I’m grateful to his son Larry for permission to include this darkly comic excerpt from Denny’s final novel, the semi-autobiographical The Perils of Captain Mighty and the Redemption of Danny the Kid” says Pisani.

Soldier Stories will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play, and GlobalComix.
