If you grew up in the 80s then you remember the show Knight Rider. If you have forgotten or weren’t around then, here’s a quick refresher:
Knight Rider is part of our pop culture history and now Playmobil has given us a great toy set to help honor this show. This set is extremely impressive. The way they have it packaged, you almost can leave if it in there, but I’m the type of guy that likes to display my toys.
It comes with the car K.I.T.T., Michael Knight, Bonnie Barstow, Devin Miles, and accessories. Talking about the figures first, they are very good interpretations of the show’s characters, but in Playmobil form. That’s very cool.
K.I.T.T. itself is really nice. There is some assembly that needs to be done but that’s really easy. It seats 2 figures when you remove the top. The dashboard looks like it jumped right out of the TV screen, including the fax machine (kids ask your parents what a fax machine is). The headlight goes up and down. In the back is a grappling hook and a license plate that rotates to show different plates. And finally and best, is the flashing light on the front and the various phrases that K.I.T.T. says. You just have to tap the hood to activate it and tap it again to turn it off:
The accessories are definitely appropriate for each character. For Bonnie, there is a high-tech mechanics setup with plenty of tools. Devon comes with his desk and phone.
This set is really cool. Obviously perfect for the adult collector, but it’s something that can be shared with your children.
