BOOM! Studios and IDW Comics bring you back an amazing collaboration of your favorite childhood Saturday morning shows which is Power Rangers and TMNT II on its first issue.

What do you get when you had so much inspiration from your two favorite groups of heroes fighting together and involves in another universe in New York City and going with a bang fighting against their enemies, you get this out of your wildest dreams. Now you people might be wondering how awesome was to bring back such an epic collaboration of your favorite Saturday morning tv shows as a child and then make it something more amazing. But then these cultured goons decided to keep going and made this as a sequel to the first one, because the first one that I reviewed five issues of this mind crusher almost blew me up, and I didn’t expect that they would release a second one. The comic is written by Ryan Parrott and illustrated by Dan Mora. For once, I do know Dan, but Ryan is actually known as the best writer for the Power Rangers comics, including this one, Go Go Power Rangers, and anything related because he’s also a television writer for the show.

The front cover of this issue is just amazing and I can’t help but notice that Dan has been making such amazing art for the Power Rangers series. However, looking at the past issues and chapters of the series just shows the rangers and the turtles fighting together. However, this one shows both of the leaders are surrounded and fighting against the mud golems, and foot soldiers, even Krang himself makes the debut of the sequel here. And somehow whenever I see the gray floor of the perspective background, it almost shows that Bebop is actually standing on the floor like he’s walking to a nearby subway. And for some reason, there’s a scribble of an army of golems and foot soldiers who were about to jump. It’s quite confusing but it would be a good perspective study.

The story starts with the usual rooftop fight cliché with Casey Jones and Karai which he’s pursuing her to know where Shredder is, however she claimed that he saw by himself that he was taken by Rita, which makes it more understandable to know why Shredder had the Dragonzord power in the first place right until Tommy took it back from him, but here, she has no idea. And then Casey got hit from behind by some mysterious warp portal.

Then at Angel Grove, for some reason one of the turtles has turned into humans for some reason. But somehow this is the first time that they’ve done something to make this interesting. In this first issue, Tommy and Raph just met up with the Rat King who has an interest in Tommy because somehow the Shredder will make his move again in the shadows. And then there’s a breakout at the Rikers Island prison where Rocksteady and Goldar are taking back Baxter Stockman to Krang. And then the comic page reveals such an interesting concept where he and the mutants are going to war against the prison guards while climbing up the stairs to the roof. However when Baxter Stockman started with his “lead the way” cliché, the comic just start to use the arrows just to follow the panels of the comic until they reached the top, and ended the whole breakout where Rocksteady did his remodeling as if he’s the management of an old tv show about wrecking homes and rebuilding them on ABC.

And the issue ends where both the rangers and the turtles are fighting against their enemies, and Casey betrayed them and morphed into Power Extreme which almost looked like Spawn by Todd McFarlene on Image Comics or Señorita Cometa by Arechan on Webtoon, without the shoulder pad and his weapon, (maybe I’ll review that Webtoon if her graphic novel is released in the future.) And for some reason, he’s holding a death scythe that almost looks like a hockey stick and disappeared on the portal with the mutants.

Unlike any other TMNT collaboration that I’ve read, this one never ceases to amaze me, after all these events going from the past issues to this one. I remember reading the fourth issue of the first collaboration, no reader had ever witnessed to see Beebop and Rocksteady grow into giants by Rita’s growth spell, the turtles morphed into power rangers, and April O’Neil too, and somehow this happened. I don’t know what to say, but I think that’s enough of this hype until the New Year because this comic is just enough to make a guy like me crazy, so crazy that I’ve seen Stephen McCrannie draw a seagull that can fire a big bird teardrop feces out of his front comic book cover (Space Boy Vol. 13 on Dark Horse Comics), so crazy that I’ve literally seen a scene where a Japanese boy standing next to the Megazord while having the magic bottle open to suck up Rita and her minions, WHICH IS MUCH MORE INSANE TO COME UP WITH THIS. So if you’re up to reading this awesome collaboration between your favorite Saturday morning heroes, then this is for you, and I‘m looking forward to reading and reviewing the rest of the sequel of this awesome collaboration.
