John Constantine is a comic book character who first appeared in Swamp Thing number 37, created by Alan Moore, Stephen R Bisset, Rick Veitch, and John Totleben. Originally a supporting character, John got his own title in 1988. A con man, warlock, and occult detective, he is known for his cynicism, deadpan wit, and constant chain smoking. The Hellblazer series was the longest-run most successful print for DC’s Vertigo imprint. He also appeared on the big screen in 2005 in which Keanu Reeves portrayed him, and in 2015 portrayed by Matt Ryan on television for 2 seasons on NBC. He also appeared in the Arrowverse universe and stints on Legends of Tomorrow.

Mezco Toyz brings the character to its fresh style of collectible figures known as the One:12 Collective. A 6-inch action figure deluxe which sports cloth outfits and multiple accessories which includes four head portraits, fifteen interchangeable hands, trench coat, multiple cigarettes, some with smoke, some without, Moonblade, twin-blade, relic cross, chainsaw, rifle, lighter, lighter with flame effect, 6 magic effects, and display base with logo.

Mezco’s claim to fame with introducing clothed 6-inch action figures continues to impress with its many licenses. This Constantine figure is another impressive addition. The multiple accessories, hands, and heads which include two beat-up faces and two regulars gave this a comic-accurate look. Known for his chain smoking the actual cigarettes both with smoke and without are easy to place in his bruised up grimacing face. The rifle and chainsaw were an unusual but welcomed addition. I do not remember John using these types of weapons with that said it never hurts to have extra accessories. The price point is spot on to their usual costs but worth every dollar. Could we see a Dark Justice group coming? I know a few collectors who would be happy to have them.
