Today, March 23, 2023 marks the 29th Anniversary of the debut of Crusade Comics’ groundbreaking comic, Shi: Way of the Warrior #1 on store shelves across the world. To celebrate this milestone, Shi-creator Billy Tucci and Deborah Tucci host a very special edition of Thursday Night Live with the “King and Queen of Kickstarter” Brian and Francisca Pulido. The Pulido’s will discuss how their independent “Bad Girl” sensation Lady Death created a entire new genre that literally changed the face of comics since its launch in 1994.
The Tucci’s and Pulido’s will talk self-publishing history, their current crowdfunding and comic shop successes, and how Lady Death and Shi’s new books continue to delight audiences the world over. Viewers can also interact with the couples as they answer fans question LIVE.
Brian Pulido is the founder and publisher of Coffin Comics, the outlaw independent comics label that publishes the “Coffinverse” line of graphic novels including Lady Death, La Muerta, Hellwitch and other heavy metal inspired supernatural comic books and merchandise. Since its inception, Coffin has grossed over $7,000,000.00 in sales through Kickstarter, comics shops and online.

He is on The Hero Initiative’s fundraising board, has received the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund’s Defender of Liberty Award and Comic Con International’s Inkpot Award for contributions to the comic arts. A life-long comic book fan, Pulido has read Marvel’s Captain America monthly without fail since July 1974. He resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Francisca and dogs Ember and Max.
