Shi-Creator Joins Comic Book and Illustration Legends at The Hilton Saturday May, 6th!
The NYC Comic Art Expo is coming to the historic New York Midtown Hilton (1335 6th Ave), on Saturday, May 6th from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Meet the creators of some of pop culture’s most dynamic characters while also enjoying the opportunity to purchase a piece of comic art history from the many galleries and dealers exhibiting that day.
The NYC Comic Art Expo is a celebration of illustration, collectible art, and original comic art from the past 100 years. See pages from The Flash, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the rest of the DCEU and the MCU. Peer into the past of American Illustration with works by Dean Cornwell, Frank Schoonover, and more displayed by The Illustrated Word Gallery. The Illustrated Word Gallery is being launched by the group behind the country’s first chain of Asian pop culture stores, Anime Crash. Illustrated Word will be displaying works by famous American comic artists and illustrators prior to opening a brick-and-mortar gallery in NYC.
The Illustrated Word Gallery is excited and honored to be hosting comic art and illustrating legend Jim Steranko. Steranko is an artist extraordinaire, pop-culture expert, escape artist, publisher, designer, editor, performer, musician, typographer, close-up magician, and writer with more than three million words published, Steranko has painted more heroes than any other artist in the past half-century.
The Illustrated Word Gallery is also thrilled to host Inkpot Award recipient and Military Writers Society of America Gold Medalist Billy Tucci, best known for his modern-day samurai saga Shi. Through his company, Crusade Fine Arts, Shi has been printed in five languages and sold more than 3 million comic books. Tucci will be displaying and offering limited edition exclusive comics, lithosgraphs and original artwork.
Also, on hand with be comic book impresario and finder of lost treasures Mike Carbonaro who will be displaying many of the most popular collectibles in the comic book world. Mike Carbonaro is the founder of Big Apple Convention, the longest-running comic book and pop culture convention in NYC. Finally meet in person on Saturday creators like Mike Golden, Ray Lago, Fred Harper, Brian Kong, and others. The NYC Comic Art Expo is organized each year by Zaddick Longenbach, a well-known collector and exhibitor of classic comic art who is excited to share his passion with the city.

About Billy Tucci
Inkpot Award recipient William W. Elliott-Tucci, aka, Billy Tucci is a cartoonist best known for his modern-day samurai saga Shi, which began with The Way of the Warrior in 1994.
