The Walking Dead #149 Original Cover Art
Charlie Adlard was the artist on The Walking Dead comic book starting with issue #7, which is saying something, since the book ran for 193 issues. This heavily shadowed artwork, from issue #149, depicts fan-favorite murderer Negan standing behind hero Rick Grimes. Perfect for creating a sense of menace in your home or office!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 Signed
Okay, we know TMNT #1 is worth a bundle, what with it being the first appearance of the four most popular turtles in the world. But what happens when one of the creators signs it? And draws a little turtle head on it? Its value skyrockets, as indicated by the bids on this issue in the latest Hake’s auction. (If that’s a little steep for you, there’s always TMNT #2, with the first appearance of April O’Neil.)
Vintage Captain Marvel Memorabilia Collection
While two hit movies have given him a bit of a boost in recent years, Captain Marvel (a.k.a. Shazam) has never gotten his fair share of merchandise. Right? Wait, right? Well, back in the 1940s, he got a TON of merchandise, from pennants to pins to figurines. Now, a large collection is up for auction, for the new (or old) Captain Marvel fan! It’s never too late to travel almost 100 years into the past!
Amazing Spider-Man #667 Signed Variant Cover 1 of 200
Retailer incentive covers can be a bear to track down, but this particular cover was 1:100, which means only 200 were made. Not only that, but it’s signed by “Spider-Island” story writer Dan Slott and cover artist Gabriele Dell’Otto. Not only THAT, but it’s got a grade of 9.8. Not only THAT, but it’s a sweet cover, bro. Previous unsigned copies have gone for big money, this should do no different.
Signed Comic Book Collection
The personal collection of Duke Caldwell was begun in the 1960s, and the signatures on said collection began in 1990, leading to a massive assortment of signed comics that would make your average signed comic collector blush. From the first appearance of J. Jonah Jameson in 1963 to the first appearance of Miles Morales in 2011 and beyond, this collection is being offered in sections, and the first batch needs to be perused to be believed.
Superman Trading Card #1 PSA 6 (1940)
Did you know, that when grading vintage trading cards, the #1 card and the last-number card are always the ones that take the brunt of the rubber band damage? So a PSA 6 on a #1 Superman card (from 1940!) is actually a pretty good grade. Other cards from the 72-card series are up for auction, as well, but you can’t beat #1.
