New volume of “Blacksad” wins another prestigious award
The Harvey Awards is one of the comic industry’s oldest and most prestigious awards that present accolades to those in the American comic book industry for creative achievement throughout the year. Nominations for each category are presented by a chosen group of industry experts, and the final awards are presented based on voting from comic book and publishing professionals during New York Comic Con. Dark Horse is pleased to celebrate all of the award winners and nominees this year. Dark Horse had three titles nominated for awards this year: for Best Manga, Cat + Gamer Volume 3, and for Best International Book, both Always Never and Blacksad: They All Fall Down • Part One.
Please join us in congratulating the creative team behind this year’s Harvey Award winner for Best International Book, Blacksad: They All Fall Down • Part One! The award was presented to Juan Díaz Canales (writer), Juanjo Guarnido (artist), Diana Schutz (translator), and Brandon Kander (translator).

In Blacksad: They All Fall Down • Part One, Detective Blacksad deals with the mob, the unions, and mid-century “master builder” Lewis Solomon, who plans to pave over New York City’s green spaces, come hell or high water. While Blacksad must navigate from the lofty world of 1950s theater all the way to the city’s seedy depths, Solomon looms above it all in pursuit of his own dreams—but is the cost too high? Meanwhile, Weekly finds himself in the hot seat just as an old flame comes back to burn his pal Blacksad!
