New Covers Spotlight Fan Favorite Characters from the Energon Universe Series
Skybound, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, announced today that hit Energon Universe series Void Rivals and TRANSFORMERS will receive subsequent printings for every issue released thus far, featuring covers that spotlight favorite characters and their first appearances in the series.
The buzzed-about series Void Rivals from the iconic Oblivion Song team of Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead) and Lorenzo De Felici (Kroma), along with colorist Matheus Lopes (Step by Bloody Step) and letterer Rus Wooton (Fire Power), alongside the smash hit new series TRANSFORMERS from writer/artist Daniel Warren Johnson (Extremity, Do a Powerbomb, DC’s Wonder Woman: Dead Earth) and colorist Mike Spicer (Stillwater, Murder Falcon), continue to sell out at the distributor level, with fan demand prompting subsequent printings for every issue published since their respective launches in June and October. Void Rivals #1-5 and TRANSFORMERS #1 and #2 will all return subsequent printings.
Available in comic book shops on December 13, 2023, alongside TRANSFORMERS #3, the new Void Rivals cover printings highlight each issue’s connection to TRANSFORMERS lore, with covers depicting fan-favorite characters including Jetfire, Skuxxoid, the Quintesson Prosecutor and Shockwave. Plus, Void Rivals #5 will feature five different covers, each spotlighting a different face of the Quintesson Judge.
New TRANSFORMERS covers feature Ratchet & Starscream, Soundwave, and Cliffjumper, and an ode to the epic first appearance of Duke.
The Energon Universe officially began in June 2023 with the surprise first appearance of iconic TRANSFORMERS character Jetfire in Void Rivals #1, introducing the historic new collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound, with TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE comics finding a new home with the publisher. The Energon Universe recently expanded with TRANSFORMERS, kicking off a brand-new era for the iconic franchise. Fans should expect can’t-miss moments from every issue of the Energon Universe, as secrets are unveiled along the path to answering the BIG questions, including #WhereIsMegatron.
These Void Rivals and TRANSFORMERS Subsequent Printing Variant Covers (Lunar Codes listed below | $3.99) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
