Everyone’s Favorite Intergalactic Duo Return for a New Four-Part Adventure from Creators Josh Trujilio, Ryan Little & Jarrett Williams
Oni Press, the multiple Eisner and Harvey award-winning publisher of groundbreaking comic books and graphic novels since 1997, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, presents the beginning of an all-new dimension-hopping joyride in RICK AND MORTY: KINGDOM BALLS #1 – which finally dares to face the unthinkable: Rick Sanchez. . . in love?! From co-writers Josh Trujillo (Blue Beetle) and Ryan Little (Disney+’s What If?) and artist Jarrett Williams (Super Pro K.O.), all’s fair in love and Rick when astral antics crash into comic shops everywhere on April 24th!
“RICK AND MORTY: KINGDOM BALLS is a dream project, and the high point of my years writing for the Rick and Morty comics!” said co-writer Josh Trujillo. “It’s a totally original, legally distinct adventure taking the duo (and Jerry, unfortunately) to realms never before thought possible! I’m so proud of the hard work Jarrett Williams is putting into our humble script; and it means the world to have one of my best friends, the pure-hearted Ryan Little, at my side! Now he’s your problem, too! I really hope you guys check it out. It’s simple. It’s clean. It’s a lot of dumb fun!”
“KINGDOM BALLS is everything I love about stories and JRPGS: insane multiverse worlds, bright characters like Rick and Morty, the iconic Josh Trujillo, mysterious villains whose schemes and continuity only grow more convoluted with each installment… And to top it off, Jarrett Williams bringing it all to life,” said Ryan Little, “I believe every world in the multiverse has its Kingdom Balls comic. And this one is by far the best of them.
In RICK AND MORTY: KINGDOM BALLS, Rick receives a distress signal from his college sweetheart, who was kidnapped by a group of interdimensional villains obsessed with collecting the fabled Dream Balls – which contain all the dreams of their dimension. Rick, with Morty and Jerry in tow, sets out to recover the mysterious Dream Balls and harness their power to save his former paramore.
“RICK AND MORTY: KINGDOM BALLS is wild!” said Jarrett Williams. “It’s been so refreshing getting to show Rick and Morty (and friends) in new costumes, new weaponry, and visiting new worlds. I love JRPG’s and Kingdom Balls heavily leans into those vibes. Shout-out to Josh Trujillo & Ryan Little for giving me such a fun script to draw! I get to flex a lot with this comic!”
