“Will put readers in mind of The Hunger Games, Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, and The Wizard of Oz… Genre fans will eagerly anticipate future installments.” —Publishers Weekly

The critically acclaimed Giant Generator series The Sacrificers—by The New York Times bestselling writer Rick Remender (Napalm Lullaby, Deadly Class, LOW) and artist Max Fiumara (Amazing Spider-Man, Four Eyes, Lucifer), Shuster award winning colorist Dave McCaig (The Walking Dead Deluxe), and published by Image Comics—will welcome a guest artist André Lima Araújo (A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance) to the team. Araújo will be on deck for the series interiors of issues #10-12, the first of which will kick off a new story arc in July.

Early uncolored, unlettered inks from the upcoming The Sacrificers #10 hint at what’s to come when Remender and Araújo join forces to tell the tale of Princess Soluna’s fall from grace. After a reversal of fortune tests her resilience, she’s brought face-to-face with unimaginable horrors in a search for refuge in a seemingly godforsaken world.

“André is one of the greatest talents in comics today and one of those rare people who is not only an incredibly talented and exciting illustrator, but a wonderful storyteller, and a machine that never misses a schedule,” said Remender. “On top of that, he’s a sweet guy and a lot of fun to work with. We’re really lucky to have him come join us on this and become part of this strange little family we’ve been building.”

The Sacrificers #10 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, July 10:

  • Cover A by McCaig – Lunar Code 0524IM347
  • Cover B (1:10 copy incentive) by McCaig – Lunar Code 0524IM348

The Sacrificers is available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

Select praise for The Sacrificers:

“Moments of profound sadness are mixed with weird beauty thanks to Fiumara’s phantasmagorical characters, who are both frightening and whimsical. The conceit will put readers in mind of The Hunger Games, Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, and The Wizard of Oz, but Remender’s keen attention to pacing and worldbuilding polishes it into a shining example of a familiar trope. Genre fans will eagerly anticipate future installments.” —Publishers Weekly

“Summons a world filled with wonder and horror.” —ComicBook.com

“All of the complex world-building is achieved through well-constructed allusions and delivered through dialogue and dogma. This approach gives the world a sense of depth. Although its conceit riffs on previous popular media, ranging from Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game to Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas, Remender plays with the utopian vision in a way that feels genuinely unique, both by virtue of being a dark fantasy spin and also in his investment in the conflicting perspectives of the privileged and oppressed… Absolutely beautiful.” —CBR

“Delivers a unique fantasy world as well as the kind of high-concept character work fans have come to expect from Rick Remender.” —AIPT

“Hard to argue that this opening issue shouldn’t be in a fantasy reader’s hands when they check out.” —Multiversity Comics
