Jim Lee, a world-renowned comic book artist, writer, editor, and publisher, is currently Chief Creative Officer of DC and Publisher for the company.

Since becoming Publisher in 2010, Lee has overseen many of the company’s highly successful publishing programs, including the recent record-breaking Rebirth line of comics, as well as The New 52 initiative that relaunched the entire line of monthly superhero comic books. As part of the revamp, Lee designed and reimagined the new, more contemporary costumes for some of the DC Universe’s most iconic characters, including Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Under Lee’s leadership, DC also successfully launched same-day digital across the entire line of comic books.

As Chief Creative Officer, Lee is charged with leading all creative efforts to fully integrate DC’s rich portfolio of characters and stories from iconic brands such as DC (BatmanSupermanWonder WomanJustice League), DC Vertigo (Sandman), and MAD across all media. As part of these efforts, Lee works closely with DC’s Franchise Management team and fellow Warner Bros. colleagues to develop cross-promotional support for DC properties.

Jim will be appearing Saturday only, and some ticket options are almost sold out, so don’t procrastinate!

Leinil Francis Yu, Filipino artist, winner of Wizard‘s Drawing Board Contest, Wizard‘s Artist of the Year in 2008, and a Marvel Young Gun, began his comics career at Marvel with a run on Wolverine. He then moved on to work on Uncanny X-Men and X-Men, and continued to work on other Marvel titles such as Fantastic FourUltimate Wolverine vs. Hulk, and New Avengers. Elsewhere, he co-created High Roads with writer Scott Lobdell at Cliffhanger, and Superman: Birthright with Mark Waid and Silent Dragon with Andy Diggle at DC Comics.

His run on Marvel’s New Avengers series ended with #37 so he could begin working on Secret Invasion. He also completed his work on Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk series before going on to work on Ultimate Comics: Avengers 2.

In 2018, Marvel relaunched a new volume of Captain America, with Yu as artist. In 2019, Yu created the first Filipino superhero, Wave, who first appeared in War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1. Today, Yu continues his large body of work at Marvel regularly with comic covers and variants.

Fan Packages for Leinil are for Friday only and are selling quickly!

THE RINGO AWARDS

If you are coming to the Baltimore Comic-Con because you’re a comics lover, the Ringo Awards banquet and ceremony on Saturday evening is a can’t-miss event! We have enabled a very limited number of tickets to the public, which includes a cocktail hour after the show ends, a crab cake dinner, and then the awards ceremony itself. Attendees also receive a gift bag filled with graphic novels, comics, and other items from sponsoring publishers and industry members. The room is filled with Ringo Awards nominees, presenters, and comics industry creators and luminaries, and it is like nothing else at the show! We cannot recommend this enough.

Look for the final ballot shortly!
