The Tentpole Energon Universe Series Debuts November 13
Today Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, announced comic book shop signings for acclaimed writer Joshua Williamson, in support of his upcoming G.I. JOE #1 launch this November.
From the chart-topping, critically acclaimed creative team of writer Williamson (Duke, Cobra Commander), artist Tom Reilly (Duke) and colorist Jordie Bellaire (Duke, W0rldtr33), G.I. JOE #1 hits comic book shops on November 13, 2024.
On the heels of the recent announcement of a signing at Things from Another World at Universal CityWalk Hollywood, paired with an exclusive Skybound Insiders screening of G.I. JOE: The Movie (1987) and Q&A, Williamson will be making additional signing stops at Collector’s Paradise in Los Angeles and Third Eye Comics in Annapolis on November 14 and 16, respectively.

A private AMC CityWalk screening of the seminal 1987 film will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with Williamson, discussing his new series launch. Tickets will be allocated to both existing and new Insider members, who sign up between September 10 and October 20, 2024. All screening attendees will be provided with Insiders-exclusive surprises, as well as the opportunity to win additional prizes provided by Skybound and Hasbro. Both existing and new members can go visit the website to enter for a chance to win tickets to this very special event.
Prior to the screening, there will be a signing event at CityWalk comic shop Things from Another World featuring Joshua Williamson. This event will be open to the public and will feature a store-exclusive G.I. JOE #1 variant cover release available for purchase.
These events join a robust slate of promotion for the launch of G.I. JOE #1 from Skybound and Hasbro, including the recentSkybound Insiders’ “Choose Your Side” initiative that is offering readers the opportunity to see themselves on the pages of G.I. JOEby publicly declaring their loyalty to either G.I. Joe or Cobra, to be featured alongside other Insiders in the series’ house ads. The ads will begin running in issue #1 on November 13. Fans of G.I. JOE will want to make sure they are locked in as Insiders, so as not to miss upcoming events and activations to be announced.
