Prana Declares DSTLRY the #9 Revenue Generator for Comic Stores in Their First Year

DSTLRY, the next-generation comics publisher redefining creator-owned comic books and digital collectibles, is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking achievement. According to data from Prana: Direct Market Solutions, a leading comics industry consulting firm, DSTLRY now ranks as the #9 revenue generator for comic stores across all publishers. This impressive achievement underscores DSTLRY’s rapid rise as a major player in the industry in its first year of publishing.

Presented last Wednesday at Retailer Day during New York Comic Con, the statistically significant data from Prana—pulled from Brian Garside’s Manage Comics POS systems—analyzed 27,000 pull list subscribers across 177 stores. The findings confirm that DSTLRY has rapidly earned its place among the industry’s top publishers by revenue, measured through Average Retail Dollars Per Store. This impressive debut underscores DSTLRY’s growing impact on the comics industry.

“When we launched DSTLRY, we promised ‘The Revolution Begins,’ and this is proof we meant it,” said David Steinberger, co-founder and CEO of DSTLRY. “Landing as the #9 revenue generator is no accident—it’s the product of our creators, our retail partners, and our fans.”

DSTLRY’s innovative approach—oversized single issues, with twice the regular page count of current single issues, top-shelf design, packaging and featuring the greatest creators working today —has clearly resonated with comic book readers and collectors.

“We’re just getting started. Ranking #9 in our first year is exciting, but it’s not the finish line,” said Chip Mosher, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer. “This success belongs to our creators, who are crafting groundbreaking stories, and the retailers who believed in our vision. The revolution we promised is well underway, and there’s so much more to come.”
