WEBTOON readers and Duolingo users can unlock exclusive perks when they read the all-new, five-part adventure
Meet Duo and Lily at the WEBTOON x Duolingo Booth for an exclusive fan experience at NYCC
Today, WEBTOON Entertainment, a leading global entertainment company and home to some of the world’s largest storytelling platforms, and Duolingo, the world’s leading mobile learning platform, announced a brand and content partnership for a new original webcomic miniseries, “Duo Unleashed!” Produced by Duolingo, all five episodes of “Duo Unleashed!” are available to read now exclusively on WEBTOON.
“Duo Unleashed!” follows Duo, Duolingo’s charming and occasionally chaotic owl mascot, in his latest adventure. When Duo tries to lighten his workload by hiring an assistant, he is surprised with a clone machine that delivers more than he bargained for—an entire squad of unruly clones! What starts as a quick fix for his mounting tasks soon spirals out of control as each clone gets wilder than the last. Now, it’s up to the original Duo, Lily, and more Duolingo characters to save the day from total clone chaos. In this hilarious journey, Duo learns what it truly means to be oneself!
To promote “Duo Unleashed!,” WEBTOON and Duolingo are bringing the story to life at New York Comic Con (Oct. 17 – Oct. 20) with an immersive fan experience including daily meet & greets with Duo and Lily. Fans can watch WEBTOON and Duolingo on social media for more details about the event and giveaways at the NYCC booth (Booth #2835).
Created in collaboration with WEBTOON and Duolingo, the series is written by Duolingo creative content coordinator Karen Buchanan with art by Kylie Hunsinger, whose previous work includes the WEBTOON Originals series “Madame Outlaw.”
From October 15 to November 12, WEBTOON users who read all five episodes of “Duo Unleashed!” will unlock a code for a one-month free trial of Super Duolingo, the brand’s ad-free subscription. Readers with a WEBTOON Monthly Coin Premium package will get a two-month free trial of Super Duolingo. The offer is available for readers who are new to Duolingo or already an active free user.
