Two new incentive variants featuring artwork by Todd McFarlane and Liam Sharp will be joining the show-stopping lineup of covers for the upcoming Spawn: The Dark Ages #1 by Sharp (Wonder Woman, StarHenge). This six issue miniseries will launch this November with six jaw-dropping covers fans won’t want to miss out on.
The highly collectible 1:250 copy incentive variant depicts McFarlane’s addition of Spawn to the background of Liam Sharp’s Cover A artwork. The piece blends Sharp’s medieval world with McFarlane’s signature take on Spawn and captures a defining moment in the character’s ever-expanding mythology.
Also unveiled is the addition of a 1:1,000 copy incentive variant. Comic shop retailers who qualify for this edition will receive a one-of-a-kind original sketch by Liam Sharp, hand-drawn on a Spawn: The Dark Ages #1 Blank Sketch Cover B. Each sketch is unique, marking Sharp’s return to the world of Spawn with an exclusive piece for top-tier collectors and retailers.
Set during the collapse of post-Roman Britain, Spawn: The Dark Ages follows King Aurelianus Ambrosius as he defends his kingdom from invasion and rebellion. When the realm faces ruin, Aurelianus must forge an unlikely alliance with Erlking Ulegrave—the Devil’s Spawn and master of the Wild Hunt—to stand against an ancient darkness rising once more. This new series reimagines one of Spawn’s most haunting eras through a mix of myth, history, and dark fantasy.
