I Roved Out in Search of Truth and Love: Tomes 1-3 from creator Alexis Flower is now the highest grossing campaign in the history of the Zoop crowdfunding platform. The campaign brought in $300,000 within 24 hours, and as of this writing, has raised over $570,000 from more than 2500 supporters.
The campaign ends Thursday night at midnight. This figure places the campaign in the Top 30 comic related crowdfunding campaigns of all time, regardless of platform.
The previous record holder on Zoop was Nick Pitarra (Manhattan Projects, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), with his creator owned book, Ax Wielder Jon, which raised over $210,000 in 2022. Pitarra held the record on Zoop for over 3 years, but was thrilled to learn of another independent creator exceeding his tally.

Flower and “I Roved Out…” have amassed a loyal following over 10 years from 2 previous crowdfunding campaigns, a successful patreon, free webcomic and by seemingly cracking the code to servicing fans who can’t wait to show up and support his work. Flower’s previous 2 campaigns in 2016 and 2018 on another platform each raised around $100,000 apiece and he continues to provide fans with what they desire on his website. His fans have been waiting for over 7 years for this latest physical release.
I Roved Out in Search of Truth and Love is an adult only high fantasy erotic comic about a couple of lazy elves trying to get out of an epic quest. The story revolves around Cinderella, an extremely friendly, happily-drifting adventurer, and her best friend Maeryll, a semi-retired assassin with refined tastes.
This campaign reprints Tomes 1 and 2 with updated pages and new covers, and will publish Tome 3 for the first time. There are bundle deals, signed copies, an art print, and a special ‘Moonshade’ Edition that has moody, moonlit cover art and comes in a slipcase. Stretch goals have been unlocked, with more on the way.
