Ran: Revenge of the Warrior writer/artist Billy Tucci has just unveiled the exclusive cover to his latest Kickstarter and fans just can’t seem to get enough! Serenely staring at the reader, Tucci’s Japanese femme-fatale is set amidst a sea of falling plum blossoms colored by the incredible Wes Hartman. What makes this exclusive so special is that it’s limited to just 200 copies, but more striking is that the edition will be printed on newsprint.

“Had I printed Ran in 1993, as opposed to printing Shi in 1994, chances are that the book would have been printed on newsprint.” Stated Tucci. “To me, the greatest comics of all time have been printed on newsprint, and now to have the chance to produce a very limited and very special edition of Ran as if it were thirty-year’s ago, is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

Unlike classic comics of the past, today’s newsprint is completely different. Crusade has partnered with Alterna Comics and their own inhouse printing press that brings the old standard into the 21st Century via the latest technology and paper standards.
