Skybound Entertainment, in partnership with Universal Products & Experiences, proudly announces the remastered release of Universal Monsters: Creature From the Black Lagoon Lives! #1 (of 2), the limited comic book series from writers Dan Watters (Batman: Dark Patterns, Destro) and Ram V (The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, Batman: Detective Comics), with art by Matthew Roberts (Manifest Destiny). Rising from the depths, the creators return to present the first two issues of their series in stunning, remastered black and white.
Originally released as a four-issue limited series, Universal Monsters: Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives! picks up years after the events of the 1954 Universal Pictures’ film. Journalist Kate Marsden hunts for a notorious serial killer in the heart of the Amazon. Hot on the trail of this madman, she soon encounters an unexpected new threat–but is he a friend or foe? Or is he simply…THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON?

Released as part of Skybound and Universal Products & Experiences’ expanding Universal Monsters comic line, Creature From the Black Lagoon Lives! followed the Eisner Award-nominated Universal Monsters: Dracula by James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds and was later joined by titles including Michael Walsh’s Frankenstein, Faith Erin Hick’s The Mummy, James Tynion IV and DANI’s The Invisible Man, and the upcoming Universal Monsters: Phantom of the Opera by Tyler Boss and Martin Simmonds. Each installment pairs top creative talent with one of pop culture’s most legendary horror icons, delivering fresh, standalone stories for longtime fans and new readers alike.
