Dynamite’s Rainbow Brite #3 starts off bright and cheery, with a delightfully attractive cover by Paulina Ganucheau.

Written by Jeremy Whitley, illustrated by Brittney Williams and coloured by Valentina Pinto, this issue begins with Wisp and Twinkle battling baddies in a dingy castle. It’s a tough confrontation, but Rainbow Brite is there to help!

The story is charming: all the colour in Rainbow Land is being stolen by the King of Shadows! It’s urgent that Wisp get help from the last remaining defender of colour, the Red Guard!

Well illustrated, written with heart, it’s a fun read for all ages. The story continues into issue 4.

Dynamite Comics, Rainbow Brite #3, $3.99 for 24 pages. All ages

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
