The Art of Dejah Thoris and The World Of Mars, from Dynamite, is a large collection of full-page illustrations.
It’s Volume Two of the title, and is divided into three sections:
On Her Own, which of course is just what it says, True Love, with John Carter, and Crossing Over, where Dejah Thoris appears with other characters, such as Vampirella.
The Art of Dejah Thoris is quite a vast collection, consisting of what appear to be comic covers and variants.
The reproduction is crisp and clear, which means that you can admire Dejah and her lightly garbed companions in high detail.
There are so many good artists at work on these images; J. Scott Campbell, Joe Jusko, Frank Cho, Lucio Parillo, Tula Lotay, Mike McKone and many more!
Each full-colour page has a description of its original appearance, and the artists involved. Unfortunately, there is no index or cross-reference that would allow us to quickly find the work of our favourite artist.
Nonetheless, it’s great to have so many varied styles and top talents collected in one volume.
