The new recruits are given advanced standing, which doesn’t sit well with the other students. So, it’s conflict between groups of students, with lots of drama!
Written by Lilah Sturges, illustrated by Pius Bak, and coloured by Gabriel Cassata, The Magicians has a quirky, ‘indie’ feel. It’s not a polished visual experience but it is all the better for it. The offbeat pace, the unique drawing style and colouring act to reassure is that we are in new territory, off the beaten “New Orleans magic” path.
Lots of arguments, swearing, hot tempers, and cool ideas, so check this one out!
