BOOM! Studios and IDW Publishing continues with the most epic collaboration in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and TMNT on its third issue.
I missed out on the second issue, which turned out to be a turn of events for the fans like the Shredder who just morphed into Dragonzord. However, the story continues whatsoever, even so, the rangers are still searching for Tommy as they speak, while the Turtles are going around searching for the Foot while going for Pizza. So I’d say that the chances are like 50/50 perhaps. So even for the second issue at the end of the comic, I was shocked about the design of the Shredder morphed into a dragonlord ranger, with the style of his liking. So why does it took a while to comprehend this kind of concept? Well, the answer is simple, THAT’S HOW LONG I TOOK TO RESEARCH THE WHOLE CHARACTER DESIGN CONCEPT ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
So the front cover of the third issue shows the whole illustration concept of the rangers and the turtles going to battle against the Foot, while Rita is focusing on how the rangers will be caught off guard to send one of her monsters to attack the city. And let’s not forget that Bebop and Rocksteady are taking the spotlight on the cover and to know that they’re still working with the Shredder, but never shown on the first two issues. So, picking up from the last issue, we found out that Shredder took Tommy’s power coin because one of his old friends just backstabbed him, meanwhile at the Moon Palace or Bandora’s Palace, I don’t know. Rita sensed a disturbance and had a feeling that someone took her Dragon coin, and that’s where she met him at the Technodrome. He confronted the witch and the battle continues between the two villains with the most extraordinary power to take on the planet. But then, they have a plan to take out their enemies by working together, so what did they do on their time? Try to block the rangers’ power and surround them with the Foot. I dunno, of all partnership that the Shredder goes through, he chooses over the witch’s bidding than teaming up The Joker and Harley Quinn. Even when the Shredder had blocked their transformation, it’s up for the turtles to save the day, or are they?
The idea of making the turtles morph into Power Rangers is just another thing of their minds to go for, but I expected nothing less than to see the morph designs for the turtles. However, the thing about the TMNT crossovers is that it seemed fun to know when the heroes and the villains are going to team up and battle each other. I’ve seen better crossovers between Batman, to Ghostbusters, to Power Rangers, etc, it seemed to have the story much more interesting to bring some crossovers. I wonder what will come up next? I wonder if they come up with a crossover about My Little Pony or Battletoads? It would be hilarious and fun, oh and we can’t forget about the two stooges, Bulk, and Skull. If you rather want to continue where this crossover of the story went off, then this is for you.
