Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos is sent to the planet Bevana on a mission to find a defector that has info that could end the Clone Wars. Many bounty hunters are seeking the defector who has secrets beyond those associated with Count Dooku. Among the bounty hunters seeking the target is Cad Bane! It’s a race against time and only one of them is going to succeed!

There’s something special about reading a Star Wars book under the Darkhorse logo that just brings any longtime Star Wars comics reader a sense of joy. A crime story focused on a detective looking for an informant with valuable info within the criminal underworld? Full of deadly bounty hunters all scrapping for the same informant? All under the veil of lightsabers and space stuff? That’s the beauty of Star Wars when handled well and this story delivers some of that fun as readers get to follow fan-favorite Jedi Vos as he races against the clock. Moreci writes an action-packed story consisting of intrigue and action. The story is pretty straightforward as a cat-and-mouse game of who gets to the person of interest first, but it is an entertaining read as Moreci pits Vos and Bane in a battle of who is outsmarting who to gain the information that they seek.

Nick Brokenshire illustrates this issue with beautiful contrasts of light and shadows, that when coupled with David Kennedy’s colors makes everything feel lively and powerful with every lightsaber and blaster ammo drawn. Tyler Smith and Jimmy Betancourt letter this issue, placing dialogue and effects suitably where it fits, complimenting the art which allows for the story to be digested for readers’ eyes. This is a fun one-and-done Star Wars issue that anyone can pick up and enjoy, which is worthwhile to add to your pull list as a Star Wars fan for New Comic Book Day.
