Introducing the First-Ever American Manga Awards as well as the Premiere of Dan Da Dan and Netflix’s TERMINATOR ZERO
Launched only eight years ago, Anime NYC has quickly become the fastest growing convention on the East Coast. Nearing 100,000 attendees and filling New York’s famed Javits Center, Anime NYC will take place on August 23-25, 2024 and will bring together both passionate fans and leading creators from around the world to highlight the heart of the Japanese entertainment world.
Offering fans one of the most unique immersive cultural experience of any convention, Anime NYC will host a sold-out exhibit hall featuring hundreds of exhibitors, a curated fan-favorite Artist Alley, an entire area devoted to Cosplay dubbed Destination Cosplay, the ever-popular Japanese Food Hall, numerous talent-filled panels including premieres from both Netflix and GKids, several unique and popular hololive Stage World Tours and more. Participating companies include Aniplex, Bandai Namco, Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu, GKIDS, HIDIVE, Kodansha, VIZ Media, and Yen Press.

Anime NYC has also partnered with Play NYC, NYC’s premier independent developer gaming convention, to offer an 80,000 square foot gaming hall to the event. Additionally, the first-ever American Manga Awards will be held the Thursday night (August 22nd) prior to the opening of Anime NYC in conjunction with The Japan Society.

- “Love Live! Superstar!! Panel Coming To The Big Apple! – Welcome special guests Sayuri Date (voice of Kanon Shibuya), Naomi Payton (voice of Sumire Heanna) and Akana Yabushima (voice of Mei Yoneme). – Sakura Stage – 2:00 PM
- Chiwa Saito Spotlight – Join legendary voice actress Chiwa Saito. She appears in extremely popular animes such as the upcoming Puella Magi Madoka Magica as Akeml Homura, the popular long-running Monogatari Series as Hitagl Senjogaahar and the world-famous Fate/Grand Order game series, lending her voice to many works of immense popularity. – Sakura Stage – 3:45 PM
- Creepy Nuts Live At Anime NYC! – Anime NYC is proud to welcome hip hop duo Creepy Nuts in their first US concert! They got us all dancing with their new theme for MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES. And now, they wrote the opening song “Otonoke” for the upcoming – and Anime NYC premiere – of DAN DA DAN series. Main Stage – 6:30 PM
- hololive presents LIVE Concert with STAGE World Tour ’24 – Soar! – Anime NYC will be the first convention appearance for this show. Be the first to see hololive’s STAGE World Tour ’24 – Soar featuring AZKi and Tsunomaki Watame of hololive, Moona Hoshinova and Kobo Kanaeru of hololive Indonesia, and Takanashi Kiara, Ninomae Ina’nis, and Hakos Baelz of hololive English. Transcending group boundaries, these members will unite to deliver a performance that aims to be enjoyed by international fans, all converging at Anime NYC. – Main Stage – 9:00 PM

- DAN DA DAN Panel – Premiere Screening – Join kensuke ushio (music) and voice actors Shion Wakayama (Momo) and Natsuki Hanae (Okarun) for the premiere screening with special guests from the English cast! – Main Stage – 11:00 AM
- MACROSS: Past, Present & Future – From the birth of MACROSS to the most recent Macross Delta, “Vision Creator” and one of the original creators of MACROSS, Shoji Kawamori has continued to successfully reinvent the MACROSS franchise for four decades. Join him as he discusses the genesis of the internationally-acclaimed anime and the series’ ever-expanding universe through its prequel, multiple sequel series and films. – Panel Room 1 – 12:30 PM
- hololive Meet English -JUSTICE – Special Mission in New York Panel — hololive English-JUSTICE- will have their first convention panel: “Special Mission in New York!” Featuring Elizabeth Rose “Bloodflame”, Gigi Murin, Cecilia Immergreen and Raora Panthera. – Main Stage – 1:15 PM
- The Ultimate Yokai Panel Sponsored by The Japan Foundation – For the first time ever, acclaimed yokai experts come together from around the world. Hiroko Yoda and Matt Alt (authors of “Yokai Attack! The Japanese Monster Survival Guide” and “Yurel Attack! The Japanese Ghost Survival Guide”) join Zack Davisson (author of “The Ultimate Guide to Japanese Yokai” and “Kaibyo: The Supernatural Cats of Japan”). Monster-ator Deb Aoki leads a discussion about the cultural, spiritual, and pop-cultural roots of Japan’s spooky side. – Panel Room 2 – 4:30 PM
- TERMINATOR ZERO – World Premiere – Creator and Showrunner Mattson Tomlin, Director Masashi Kudo and additional special guests will be on hand to unveil one of the most anticipated anime series of the year prior to its August 29th debut on Netflix. – Main Stage – 7:30 PM
Sunday (August 25, 2024):
- Critical Role Fireside Chat + Cast Q&A – The entire cast of Critical Role will be returning to the Big Apple to see fans at Anime NYC. Join Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham as they discuss everything going on in Critical Role land. – Main Stage – 11:00 AM
- Writing Lovable Characters with Dan Salvato – What makes a character memorable? Dan Salvato, creator of Doki Doki Literature Club, shares his approach for writing characters with a strong huan element that sticks with readers. – Panel Room 1 – 11:00 AM
- Toshio Furukawa Spotlight – Toshio Furukawa is best known for his roles as Kai Shiden in Mobile Suit Gundam, Piccolo in Dragon Ball, Ataru Moroboshi in Urusei Yatsura and Portgas D. Ace in One Piece. Furukawa has portrayed a wide range of characters, from comical to serious. In addition to his long list of voice roles, Furukawa also worked on dubbing American movies including Little House on the Prairie, Back to the Future and Scooby Doo. – Sakura Stage – 12:00 PM
- Max Mittelman Spotlight – Join well-known as the voice of Saitama in One Punch Man, Max Mittelman has also given life to other fan-favorite characters such as Ryull in Persona 5, Aratakl Itto in Genshin Impact, Plagg in Miraculous Ladybug & Cat Noir, King in The Seven Deadly Sins, Sabito in Demon Slayer and Atsushi in Bungo Stray Dogs. – Sakura Stage – 1:30 PM
