Gore spatters and an unlikely romance blossom in a future Victorian London

Jack the Ripper has returned to stalk the streets of London once more in the new LGBTQ+ mystery thriller comic, Ripperland. The series, released initially in four single issues, will now be collected in one complete paperback volume. It is co-written by multi-award nominated creators Steve Orlando (Midnighter, Scarlet Witch) and John Harris Dunning (Summer Shadows, Wiper), with art and cover art by Alessandro Oliveri, colors by Francesca Vivaldi (Bettie Page), and letters by Fabio Amelia (Assassin’s Creed).

The year is 2188, and Jack the Ripper has returned to London. For the last century, a shattered post-Brexit England has operated as a massive Victorian theme park in exchange for American military and financial protection. But when an American mogul’s grandson is killed in the heart of London, the delicate status quo is threatened. Is the killer a brilliant maniac? Americans taking advantage of their superior technology? Or the English Underground Resistance, wishing to throw off the yoke of American oppression and rejoin the modern world? American Special Agent Jesse Holden and local British Police Detective Edwin Fogg must overcome their clashing ideologies in order to find the truth in the foggy streets of 22nd-century London.

The Ripperland (136 pages, 6.625 x 10.1875”) paperback collection stalks the shelves of bookstores on September 9, 2025 and comic shops on September 10, 2025. It is available for pre-order now on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, TFAW, and wherever books and comics are sold. The book will retail for $19.99.

Praise for Orlando and Dunning:

“Dunning does an excellent job of fusing a deep melancholic atmosphere into the story from the start…This melancholy is contrasted by the raw beauty of the Greek isles brought beautifully to life by Cabral and Simpson.”—Comic Watch

“I am LOVING what Steve Orlando is doing with this run [of Scarlet Witch]! It’s mystical, it’s hard-hitting, it’s beautiful. Involving the Queen of Nevers with Wanda was such a great choice and a creative way to showcase Wanda being even more of a badass than she already is. I can practically hear the third edition calling my name as a sit here wanting more and more.”—Nerd Initiative
