Hazbin Hotel Season 2 turns up the heat, delivering a bold, chaotic, and surprisingly heartfelt return to the underworld.

After Charlie’s victory over Heaven’s army, the Hazbin Hotel is thriving with new residents. Unfortunately, many of them have checked in for all the wrong reasons. As resentment toward Heaven grows and sinners begin to realize they can fight back, opportunists emerge to exploit the chaos—chief among them the ruthless overlord trio known as the Vees. While Charlie struggles to uphold the hotel’s mission and protect its reputation, the Vees, led by the cunning tech demon Vox, devise a plan to overthrow Heaven itself and seize ultimate power. Meanwhile, in Heaven, the angels are forced to confront the fallout from Sir Pentious’s redemption and face their own complicity in Hell’s suffering.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t familiar with Hazbin Hotel when it first premiered on YouTube. My son discovered it and became an instant fan, and I just went along for the ride.

Then, when Prime Video launched Hazbin Hotel Season 1, I was hooked. The show turned out to be an unexpected mix of drama, dark humor, action, and heartfelt storytelling—with some genuinely impressive musical numbers.

Season 2 takes everything that worked and builds on it.

This season follows Charlie Morningstar (Erika Henningsen – Harlem, Girls5eva), the princess of Hell and daughter of Lucifer (Jeremy Jordan – Supergirl, Spinning Gold), who dreams of opening the “Hazbin Hotel,” a sanctuary for demons seeking redemption. In Hell—where overpopulation is kept in check by an annual purge led by the angel Adam—Charlie is determined to break the cycle of violence and offer a more compassionate path. Her goal is to help sinners “check out” of Hell as redeemed souls worthy of Heaven.

With the help of her devoted manager and girlfriend Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz – Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Encanto), the flamboyant and reluctant first guest Angel Dust (Blake Roman – Blue Bloods), gruff bartender Husk (Keith David – The Thing, Spawn), and the hyperactive maid Niffty (Kimiko Glenn – Orange Is the New Black, Baby Shark’s Big Show!), Charlie pushes forward with her dream. But when a disastrous TV appearance draws the attention of the infamous Radio Demon, Alastor (Amir Talai – American Dad, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness), her mission takes a chaotic turn. Alastor offers to help manage the hotel—not out of belief in her vision, but for his own amusement.

Season 2’s new antagonists, the Vees, steal nearly every scene they’re in. The trio includes Vox (Christian Borle – Blackhat, Peter Pan Live!), a television demon who heads a tech empire and serves as Alastor’s greatest rival; Velvette (Lilli Cooper – Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock), a doll-like demon running Hell’s fashion industry; and Valentino (Joel Perez – Tick, Tick… Boom!), a moth demon and porn studio owner who also happens to be Angel Dust’s abusive boss.

All the voice actors deliver outstanding performances, perfectly balancing humor, menace, and emotion. And the singing—there’s no overstating how good it is. The musical numbers are clever, catchy, and beautifully produced.

Yes, Hazbin Hotel is considered adult animation, but it’s also layered, heartfelt, and ambitious, with the kind of creativity and musical storytelling rarely seen outside Broadway. It’s a far cry from what you’d typically find on Adult Swim.

Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel expands its world, deepens its characters, and raises the stakes without losing the heart that made the series special. It’s bold, funny, emotional, and endlessly entertaining.

After you finish Season 2, you’ll want the soundtrack too. Hazbin Hotel: Season Two (Original Soundtrack) will be released digitally on November 19, 2025, with physical editions (CD, cassette, and vinyl) arriving on November 21, 2025. Pre-orders are available now from major retailers and Atlantic Records’ partners.

Season Two of Hazbin Hotel premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
