RAN INTRODUCES ALL-NEW CHARACTER TO THE WORLD OF COMICS WITH FLIP BOOK STORY FEATURING SHI!
Due to enthusiastic Indiegogo and Kickstarter fan support, Ran: Revenge of the Warrior #1 has unlocked its final Stretch Goal, expanding the 48-page graphic novel to 56 pages. This very special Stretch Goal affords all backers with an additional 10-page bonus story marking the debut of an all-new character, MORTUARY MICHELLE…guest starring SHI!
WHO IS MORTUARY MICHELLE?
Michelle Bishop leads a double life. By day, works in the Manhattan morgue, surrounded by the city’s dead. By night, she is content hosting platform Cakestream’s biggest star. When a mysterious encounter awakens her hidden abilities, Michelle finds herself drawn into murders, conspiracies, and a secret world just below the surface of ours. As her powers grow stronger, she discovers that the dead have plenty to say and someone…or something…will do anything to keep them silent.
“I am happy to announce that Ran: Revenge of the Warrior #1 will be complete by the end of this week!” Stated, Ran creator Billy Tucci. “All black and white artwork, lettering, ads, covers, editorial pages and the flip book debut story, Michelle: Spectral Awakening #0 are now complete. We are just waiting on a few final color corrections (about eight panels worth) and final copy edits. Mindy Lopkin is ready to complete the final template-for-print files and send it off to Jostens.”
Mortuary Michelle: Spectral Awakening #0 is a dark, goth fantasy introducing the world to the supernatural siren that also guest stars everyone’s favorite Sohei warrior, Shi! It is Written by J.C. Vaughn(Shi: Gatecrasher), illustrated by Celso and colors by Hi-Fi Colour Design.
All Ran/Mortuary Michelle books, (including foil variants) will now have two yin-and-yang covers; the offered Revenge of the Warrior covers on one side and Mortuary Michelle: Spectral Awakening on the other. The only cover perk that will not feature Mortuary Michelle flip cover is the Walter Simonson Wrap Around Special Edition, but Crusade will include an exclusive MM cover mini print inside each issue.

About Billy Tucci
Inkpot Award recipient Billy Tucci is a cartoonist best known for his modern-day samurai saga Shi. Through his company, Crusade Fine Arts, Shi has been printed in five languages and sold more than 3 million comic books. The graduate of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology contributed to the Eisner Award Winning, Comics For Ukraine: Sunflower Seeds and Love Is Love. Billy has also earned the prestigious Diamond Comics Gem Award and his DC Comics’ graphic novel, Sgt. Rock: The Lost Battalion, was awarded the Military Writers Society of America Gold Medal. The Lost Battalion featured the real-life 442nd Regimental Combat Team, which was comprised of Japanese American soldiers. His earnest retelling of the Christmas story in A Child Is Born has quietly turned into an international blockbuster, winning the Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year Award. Billy’s critically acclaimed I saw the return of the Golden Age Icon for Dynamite Comics. His Crusade Comics has recently released a series of new Shi graphic novels, Return of the Warrior, Haikyo, Sakura and Gatecrasher.
