CURSE OF THE WHERE WOLF  Coming this August

The Acclaimed Horror-Comedy Returns With Bigger Laughs, Bigger Monsters, and One VERY UNHAPPY Werewolf

Being a werewolf was never part of the plan.

Following the breakout success of Where Wolf, writer Robert Saucedo (Birth. Movies. Death.), artist and colorist Debora Lancianese (Quicksand, The Lost Gardens, Fear Me, Love Me), and Harvey Award-winning letterer Jack Morelli (Afterlife with Archie, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) reunite for CURSE OF THE WHERE WOLF, an all-new horror-comedy graphic novel that pushes Larry Chaney’s misadventures into even stranger, bloodier, and surprisingly more heartfelt territory.

Originally debuting as a black-and-white webcomic through Fangoria before being collected by Encyclopocalypse Publications in 2023, Where Wolf quickly found an audience through its sharp blend of horror, comedy, and Texas-sized absurdity, while also attracting attention beyond comics through an active film and television option with producers Charles Horak and James Fino of Starburns Industries, executive producers of Rick and Morty, Anomalisa, HarmonQuest, and The Freak Brothers.

Being a werewolf sucks. Reporter Larry Chaney wanted to be a hero. Instead, he became a werewolf. Now, caught between incredible new powers and a desire to eat everything (and everyone) in sight, Larry must find a cure for his curse. Or die trying

Rob Saucedo spoke about expanding the world he created while embracing everything he loves about the medium:

“As a lifelong fan of werewolves, mystery novels, and the weirdness that is Texas, the first Where Wolf comic book was born from my desire to tell the ultimate werewolf story for fans of the werewolf genre. I worked with great partners to get it out into the world, including Fangoria and Encyclopocalypse, and producers Charles Horak and James Fino.

With Where Wolf, I wanted to tell a whodunit set in a furry convention, so the story was pretty contained within a very specific setting and genre. With Curse of the Where Wolf, I wanted to celebrate everything I love about the possibility of comic books. Curse of the Where Wolf is a funny book, in every sense of the phrase, but it’s also an earnest look at a person’s struggle to become a better version of themselves, especially when the alternative is to become a literal monster.

Fans of the first book are going to find the same mix of horror and comedy, but I think they’re going to be even more surprised by the book’s heart and humanity. Both books are collaborations with incredibly talented partners. Debora Lancianese is a master of comedy, crafting characters that come to life with humanity and humor. Jack Morelli is an industry legend. To say that I’ve worked with a man who’s worked with both Stan Lee and Archie Andrews blows my mind.”

Blending the irreverent energy of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, the supernatural chaos of Dungeon Crawler Carl, and the horror-comedy sensibilities of I Hate This Place, Curse of the Where Wolf delivers laugh-out-loud comedy, genuine emotion, and monstrous mayhem. Fans of What We Do in the Shadows and King of the Hill will feel right at home in Saucedo’s distinctly Texan world of cryptids, curses, and lovable losers.
