The hit video game is now a full-length film, ready to go home with you!

In the film, we are introduced to Ratchet, a mechanic on a planet on Veldin. Ratchet actually dreams of joining the Galatic Rangers. When a reformed enemy robot shows up on Ratchet’s doorstop, Ratchet ends up naming him Clank and the two go off to save the universe from the evil forces of Chairman Drek.

I’m not a gamer, but while I have heard of Ratchet & Clink, I couldn’t really tell you anything about them. So I went into this movie cold. I have to admit I enjoyed it.  It was fun and silly. I’m sure there were some Easter Eggs I missed, but it didn’t take anything way from the plot.

James Arnold Taylor, who voices Ratchet in the video game, does a great job playing him here. The rest of voice cast is all-star: Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Rosario Dawson, and Sylvester Stallone.

I ended up watching it with my 4-year-old son and he was cracking up at it, so that’s my judge.

Bonus features include two behind the scenes featurettes.

If you’re a fan of the Ratchet & Clank video game, or a fan of fun animation, I recommend this film for your collection.

Ratchet & Clink is now available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and Digital HD everywhere.
