Once again it’s down to Fred Flintstone to be the shining beacon of decency as everyone else spirals into corruption
This issue deals with greed and corruption whether its aliens trying to buy an ocean or the church placing a monetary value to absolution. Officer Gazoo pops up to keep an eye on the people of Bedrock and isn’t too impressed with what he sees, humans have become lazy and self-indulgent now they are at the top o the food chain.
The church of Gerald highlights the fickleness of society and how easy it can be to swap being nice and helping each other for a quick fix and how donating money to the church somehow balances out the ‘sins’ that they commit. Greed also plays a part with Fred’s work when an accident traps a man and Mr. Slate would rather move on and get back to work than take the time to rescue him.
As always The Flintstones expertly deals with big topics that affect everyone today and evidently were just as relevant back in the stone age. I love seeing Fred’s heroic side come out regardless of the consequences and pressure from his boss.
